A BRADFORD city centre road was closed on Wednesday evening after a tractor trailer shed its load of hay bales.
Police were at the scene, on Barry Street, to assist while the mess was cleared.
Pictures emerged, taken by Anna Dyson-Clarke of the T&A Camera Club, showing the trailed on its side.
It happened at around 7pm.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said no-one has been injured.
Drivers were advised to find alternative routes until the road re-opened.
The report prompted a series of puns from T&A readers, including one person who said: "After the cleanup the police left . I heard them saying 'That's the last straw'"
Another quipped: "If that cop thinks he's clearing that up, he's clutching at straws."
