SUPERMARKETS in the district have experienced problems with their fridge and freezer units in recent days.
As temperatures soared, both Morrisons and Asda stores in Bradford were hit with issues.
The Bradford-based supermarket confirmed there had been problems.
A spokesperson said: "Our freezers were closed for a short time yesterday in our Mayo Avenue store due to the hot weather.
"All freezers are now back up and running in the store."
Meanwhile, an Asda spokesperson told the Telegraph & Argus: "In the extreme conditions some of our chilled units at our Greengates supermarket were temporarily out of order yesterday and any products which were affected were removed for customer’s safety.
"All of our fridges and freezers are working as normal today, however our colleagues are always on hand to help customers should they find that an item is not yet back on the shelf.''
Tesco confirmed it had also faced problems.
A spokesperson said: “Refrigeration and freezer units at some of our stores are currently being worked on by our maintenance teams who will get them back up and running as soon as possible.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Meanwhile, a Co-op spokesperson said: “The refrigerators at our local High Street, Queensbury, were temporarily out of order yesterday but they are now repaired and working. To comply with food safety rules, chilled products must remain below a set temperature, which wasn’t possible for a small amount of products in the unprecedented heat yesterday.”
