A MOTORCYCLIST has sustained serious injuries after crashing into a wall on the St Ives Estate.
West Yorkshire Police were called out to the popular nature spot around 8pm on Tuesday, July 19.
The incident took place at the junction just off Harden Road in Bingley.
The road – known locally as The Twines – was closed off by emergency services for most of the evening.
The motorcyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by Yorkshire Ambulance Service with serious injuries.
One driver, who was blocked off by the police presence, said: “It's bad. I turned around and it didn’t look like it was opening soon.”
Motorists and neighbours reportedly stopped at the scene to provide first aid to an unconscious man, whose motorbike could be seen in the road.
One man said: “Didn't look good, lots of people there trying to give first aid. Hope he's OK.”
Another said they saw all the emergency services – including West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue – “out in full force”.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call at 7.47pm on Tuesday evening (July 19) to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle in the Harden Road area of Bingley.
"An ambulance and air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed by land ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary."
