A CRICKET legend will become the latest star name to be kitted out by a Bradford tailoring firm.
Wasim Akram, who played for Pakistan and Lancashire during his glittering cricket career, has been measured up for two suits from IK Collections, based in Westgate.
The bowler invited IK Collections owner Imran Khan to his Cheshire home earlier this month and they will meet again in Pakistan in October when Mr Akram will receive his finished suits.
Mr Akram is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of all time and holds the world record for most wickets in List A cricket, with 881. He also played in English county championship cricket for Lancashire between 1988 and 1998.
Mr Khan said: “He was a nice, down-to-earth person.
“I have heard a lot about him. We are making him two suits; one is grey and the other is navy blue. He chose his fabric and had his first fitting last week.
“We are now starting to get the suits made and will take them to Pakistan in October to complete them.”
IK Collections have previously made suits for well-known names including Captain Sir Tom Moore and former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
