CROWDS gathered on an emotional evening to attend a vigil in Centenary Square to remember Bradford woman Somaiya Begum.
The vigil was held from 6pm to 7pm this evening as people gathered to remember the 20-year-old who was described as an "affectionate and caring" young woman.
The body of Miss Begum, 20, of Binnie Street, was discovered in Fitzwilliam Street in Bradford on July 6. She was last seen at her home on June 25.
At the vigil, a message was read out from her family followed by a minute's silence.
One of the vigil organisers, Fatima Patel, said: "Somaiya has been described as a very talented young woman.
"She was somebody who was very affectionate, very caring and somebody who had a very bright future ahead of her.
"Having nieces myself of that age and being from the community, living here in Bradford, all of us feel that loss whether they know Somaiya or not."
Cllr Ralph Berry (Lab, Wibsey) tweeted: "Powerful gathering in Bradford to remember another woman. Remember Somaiya Begum."
Her uncle Mohammed Taroos Khan, 52, of Thornbury Road, Bradford, is set to stand trial for her murder.
