Homes across several parts of Bradford were without power today as Northern Powergrid dealt with unplanned outages.
The company said there was a "major power cut" on Tuesday morning, believed to be caused by "an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area".
Affected areas include Wyke, Little Horton, Lower Grange, Thornton, and hundreds of homes in the BD8 area.
Power was restored around 11am for most areas, as crews worked to fix issues "as early as possible".
Any further outages are likely to be planned power cuts by Northern Powergrid.
Northern Powergrid said: "The power should now be restored. If there are any issues, please contact 105."
In the latest update, Northern Powergrid said the power outage was caused by underground cable fault in Bradford area, affecting around 1,000 customers.
A spokeswoman said: “At around 9.30am this morning around 1,000 customers in the BD8 and BD13 postcode areas were affected by a power cut.
“Our engineers took action to remotely restore power to hundreds of customers within minutes by starting to safely switch electricity through alternative routes on our network.
"We have successfully located the fault and our teams are coordinating a repair.
“We thank our customers for their patience whilst we worked to restore their electricity supplies as soon as possible.”
