FIREFIGHTERS from Cleckheaton rescued a puppy that had fallen down a well.
The Cleckheaton Technical Rescue Unit was called at 8am yesterday to reports that a puppy had fallen down a well in the garden of a home at Heath in Wakefield.
Cleckheaton firefighter Ryan Simpson said: "We rescued a puppy from down a well. It fell 20 feet so we lowered a firefighter and carried out a line rescue.
"It has fallen on a soft muddy surface and so, thankfully, it was unhurt.
"We reunited it with its owner, so it was a happy ending."
