PROPOSALS to turn a former shop into a café and micropub have been refused by Bradford Council.
An application to convert the former This n That store on Wrose Road at the Five Lane Ends Roundabout was submitted in May.
It said the business would operate as a café until the early afternoon before becoming a micropub open until 10.30pm.
But planning officers have now refused the proposals, submitted by Gary Mallinson.

A report by officers said 14 people had objected, saying the business would increase anti-social behaviour, late night noise and create parking problems.
Planning officers agreed, saying: “It is considered that proposed used will cause increase amount of coming and goings throughout the day, as well as evening and night - unlike its previous use.”
Highways officers said a business of this type would require between five and 10 parking spaces.
The application sets aside four spaces, but officers said these would not be workable.
With the unit being so close to a busy roundabout, officers recommended the plans be refused.
They said the business “would result in an increase in on-street parking and/or parking on the pavement, close to a busy roundabout raising pedestrian and highway safety concerns.”
