THE residents who live on the street of missing Bradford woman Somaiya Begum have spoken of their "shock" and hopes that she will be found safe.
As police continued to carry out their investigations on an industrial site on Thornbury Road, Laisterdyke, and intensified their investigation on Harewood Street in Barkerend, residents of nearby Binnie Street, where 20-year-old Somaiya Begum was last seen on Saturday, have spoken about their concerns for the young woman.
"It's all been quite shocking," said one Binnie Street resident. "We just hope the young woman will be found safe and well.
"As the days go by there doesn't seem to be much happening and we're waiting to hear what's going on.
"We grew up with them. They were a quiet family."
Another resident said: "Everybody is quite concerned. We've been living here a long time and it's stressful for everyone in the area.
"This area is like a family to everybody. Everybody knows everybody. It's just a shock."
Another resident said: "I really hope she is ok. Fingers crossed, I hope the best for her.
"You didn't see much of her family. They kept themselves to themselves."
