THE Prince’s Trust offers entry-level programmes for over-16s across the UK for young people looking to make a fresh start on their learning journey.

These life-changing courses can help people get back into employment or education by giving them the skills and confidence to kickstart their future.

That’s why Bradford College is delighted to announce it will be enrolling for a Prince’s Trust 12-week Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills course.

The programme helps develop fundamental communication and digital-employability skills, essential time and money management, and attitudes required by employers across a range of sectors. These skills are vital when it comes to securing a job.

By enrolling on the programme, young people learn teamwork, leadership skills, and problem-solving through a series of creative projects and challenges. They also gain confidence in English and maths which can ultimately support them to become more independent.

Bradford College tutors are ready to support any applicant, whatever the circumstances or needs. All lessons focus on developing opportunities to progress to other further education courses, apprenticeships, or work-based learning.

Prince’s Trust students can also participate in taster sessions for chosen careers that could ultimately end in a job.

Those enrolled on the course will benefit from:

* A five-day residential trip participating in group activities such as climbing, canoeing, raft building and much more;

* A community project working with teams on something that will benefit the local community;

* A work placement to practice the skills developed on the course;

* A team challenge to demonstrate new skills in a practical situation that helps others in the local area.

The 12-week course will run 5 days per week (for 25 hours) and is a rolling programme which recruits new intakes throughout the year.

The incredible overseas trip was made possible through the College partnership with ‘Everything Is Possible’ in York - a not-for-profit organisation helping disadvantaged young people learn through volunteering and life experiences.

The College runs a range of courses aimed at young people who are not yet sure about what they want to do and offer them the time for valuable reflection. Programmes cover outdoor studies, skills for independence and work, next steps, and new directions.

These courses result in fantastic life-changing outcomes, with many students progressing onto Further Education courses, traineeships, or full-time employment. Students also work in partnership with the National Citizens Service (NCS) programme which helps develop key employment skills and behaviours.

The College is ready to enrol the next cohort of 19+ maths and English students. If you're looking to retrain or start your career but need your English or maths qualification, you can apply for a GCSE programme starting in September.

Courses are available for adults that can be part-time and flexible to fit around other commitments. The success rates of these Bradford College programmes are consistently above the national benchmark. Visit the Bradford College website for more about maths and English for adults.
