A 15-YEAR-OLD boy from Haworth has been charged with a number of terrorism offences.
The boy has today been charged with one offence under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
He has been charged with four offences under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – dissemination of terrorist publications.
The boy faces one offence under the Protection from Harassment Act.
He has been remanded in custody to next appear at the Central Criminal Court on July 15.
He was arrested on June 21, as part of a pre-planned, intelligence led operation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East into suspected extreme right-wing terrorism.
A property was also searched as part of the operation and a seven-day warrant of further detention was granted.
