SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...for help with a complaint about the quality of their takeaway meal.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
The Police cannot assist you in your complaint about the quality of your take away!

This is not for Police and certainly #Not999 🙄 pic.twitter.com/dqfjtXqehH
In its latest example, alongside a frustrated clip of cartoon character Homer Simpson, the team said: "The Police cannot assist you in your complaint about the quality of your take away! This is not for Police and certainly #Not999.”
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them. Another called to say their knickers had been stolen from their washing line.
