A MAN has appeared in court charged with assaulting an officer at a Bradford police station and using abusive words and behaviour at a city train station.
Bailey Clarke, 19, of Lodge Gate Close, Denholme, was given a community order after he faced two charges.
In the first count, assault by beating of an emergency worker, he assaulted a police constable, acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker.
This offence took place at Trafalgar House Police Station, Nelson Street, Bradford, on December 17, 2021. He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation for this offence.
In the second offence, he used threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence, against a man at Bradford Interchange Railway Station, Bridge Street, Bradford, on December 17, 2021. He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation.
Clarke was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work in the community over the next 12 months under the terms of the community order he was given for the two offences.
Clarke pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on June 8, 2022.
