Alanis Morissette has cancelled her Leeds tour date this evening due to illness.

The singer was scheduled to play at Leeds’ First Direct Arena on Friday but made the decision to cancel the show at around 6.30pm on the night.

With several emojis, she posted a video to her Twitter account writing: “i feel so sad to have to cancel tonight’s show in Leeds. the entire range of my voice is gone today. i thought i could push through like we did last night. but it’s gone. i love you and i am so sorry and i know i will see you again soon.”

Replies from fans flooded in as Morissette posted the announcement.

Replying to her post, one fan tweeted: “Really gutted we couldn't see you tonight. Would have been our first concert in years and you're awesome. Get well soon and we hope we'll see you next time :)”

Alongside a heart emoji, another tweeted: “Get well soon, we were so looking forward to seeing you tonight but hopefully you’ll return to Leeds soon”

Is Alanis Morissette’s Manchester show cancelled?

The cancellation of tonight’s show has created uncertainty for fans who have tickets to the Manchester show tomorrow (June 25).

The singer has not yet revealed whether she will be well enough to perform at Manchester’s AO Arena.

One tweeted: “Hi alanis, please can you let us know if tomorrow is on we have a really long journey to get to see you in Manchester and would rather know before we set off at 7am”

Another said: “Is manchester still on?”
