BRADFORD City Council has announced that roadworks will begin again this week on the new Greengates Junction.
The new road layout, which was fully opened two weeks ago, will once again be taken over by roadworks to install detection loops, ahead of each set of traffic lights, to make it more efficient at detecting traffic.
Roadworks will start on Monday, June 13, and finish on Friday 17. Work will be carried out between 6.30pm and 11pm.
Why did the council wait until the end to do this?
Due to the extremely high temperature of the tarmac, the detection wires would have been damaged if they had been laid straight away and so the council had to wait until work had been completed to do this next job.
