A BRADFORD man has been charged over a robbery at his local Post Office after members of the public detained a suspect.

Police received reports that money had been stolen from another individual in the shop.

Najahat Karim, of Donisthorpe Street, off Manchester Road, will appear in court today.

The 50-year-old was charged in relation to the incident which occurred at the Post Office nearby to him on Gaythorne Road in West Bowling earlier this week.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged with a robbery at a Post Office in Bradford.

"Najahat Karim, 50, of Donisthorpe Street, was charged with a robbery at the Post Office on Gaythorne Road on June 6.

"It is after police were called to an incident where members of the public had detained a suspect after money had been stolen from the victim. 

"Karim has been remanded to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court today."
