PLANS to expand the McDonalds restaurant in Heckmondwike have been passed.
It involves a single store extension to the existing restaurant building, which would allow the shop front and kitchen areas to be reconfigured.
The bid was made by McDonalds Restaurant Ltd for the modern drive-thru building at Northgate in the town.
Planners have approved the 7.5m2 extension on the southwest side of the building, describing it as a “modest spatial increase in floorspace”.
The report adds that although the extension would be on the most prominent side when viewed from the public highway, it would be away from residential property on Albion Street.
It follows plans for the site in 2020 to reconfigure the carpark and drive thru lane, install customer order displays and overhead canopies.
