A NEW barbecue-style restaurant is due to open in Bradford city centre in the coming weeks.
Chilli Flames, an Afro-Portuguese eatery, will open its doors on Broadway to offer its customers a range of grilled meats, salads, loaded fries and wraps.
It will be the last empty unit to be filled on Broadway after a range of eateries, including Dunkin, Pizza Express and German Doner Kebab have opened over the past few years.
Two brothers from Bradford have taken on the franchise and say they can’t wait to open.
Franchisee Tahir Iqbal said: “We wanted to open because we knew it is something that Bradford will want.
“We know that a lot of people are looking at a healthier way of living, and because a lot of it is grilled, we can serve healthy products as well as things like loaded fries, so there is something for everyone. We’ve also got a range of vegetarian products too.”
“We’re excited but also a bit nervous because so much work has gone into it, but we can’t wait to open now.”
The restaurant is in the style of a casual sit-down eatery, with most of the menu costing between £5 and £10.
The circular tables and bright neon lights create a chilled-out feel for people to enjoy a bite to eat with family and friends.
It will also serve a range of dessert items such as cheesecake and ice cream, as well as a number of soft drinks on offer.
Usman Iqbal added: “We went around to other branches of Chilli Flames in the UK to make sure it’s a product we like before we set up here ourselves.
“My favourite on the menu is the beef prego, which is strips of beef that have been marinated in spices for four or five days and then put in a burger with cheese. I could eat about five of them.”
The brand has created its own secret range of marinades and sauces that covers its fresh chicken and is marinaded for at least 24 hours before.
All products used are fresh and not frozen and are halal HMC approved.
Other Chilli Flames stores in the UK include Bolton, Leicester, Birmingham and Derby, with a view to open more.
An opening date for the store is expected to be announced soon.
