A BRADFORD man has been banned from driving after he was charged with taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.
Mathew Spaven, 36, of Thornton Road, Thornton, was handed a community order.
The offence took place in Bradford on July 5, 2020.
Spaven was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving licence for six months. He was also ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work in the community over the next 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £150 costs and a £95 victim surcharge for this charge.
Spaven was also convicted of a charge of failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time.
On July 8, 2021, at Bradford, he failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court, having earlier been released on bail in criminal proceedings on October 28, 2020.
This offence was also covered under the requirements of the community order he was given. A collection order was also made by the court.
Spaven pleaded guilty to both charges when he was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on May 18, 2022.
