BRADFORD being named City of Culture 2025 has been warmly welcomed.
The city was handed the prestigious title live on TV last night, after beating off competition from Wrexham, Southampton and County Durham.

On the Telegraph & Argus Facebook page, Alison Newman wrote: “It’s great to see this, it will bring investment and money, maybe jobs as well to the city. Has to be a positive thing.”

Meanwhile, Bradford-born singer Tasmin Archer, most famous for her 1992 number one single Sleeping Satellite and Brit Award win the following year, also congratulated her home, tweeting:
