LATEST NEWS: 'We smashed it - this is our time to shine!' - delight as Bradford is named UK City of Culture 2025
Emotions ran high as Bradfordians gathered in Centenary Square for the announcement of the City of Culture winner last night.
There was excitement and tension in the air as three years of hard work on Bradford's bid culminated in the long-awaited announcement by Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries.
Live music played as the party began in the lead up to the announcement live on The One Show, and all eyes looked towards the Big Screen.
And the winner is...
The crowd erupted as Bradford was finally revealed as the winner - The UK Captial of Culture for 2025!
There were screams and shouts and people jumped for joy. Smoke bombs filled the air with colour as the crowd went wild. There were tears of happiness and plenty of hugs.
