A BRADFORD man, who assaulted a police officer in a “prolonged” attack, has been jailed.
Mark Grant, 58, of Bradford Road, Clayton, changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced by Bradford magistrates to 10 weeks in prison.
He was charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker, which took place on March 26, at this home address.

The hearing before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court took place on Monday, May 23.
In reaching their decision on the sentence, magistrates said the offence was so serious because it was a “prolonged assault” which took place in a domestic setting with a child present – and there was high culpability due to him using his hand on the officer’s throat.
He must pay compensation of £250.
