A BRADFORD man has been jailed after assaulting two police officers.
Tanvir Ahmed, 35, of Jesmond Avenue, Bradford, was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, relating to an incident on February 25, 2022.
He appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court and was jailed for nine weeks in total.
Magistrates considered the offence to be so serious because it was a deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties.
He must also pay compensation of £120 in total.
In addition to the assault charges, Ahmed pleaded guilty to failing to surrender at the magistrates’ court having earlier been released on bail.
He also admitted possessing three bags of cannabis, a controlled drug of class B, receiving no separate penalty.
