A MAN has avoided jail for being in possession of a knuckle duster in a public place in Bradford.
David Howes, 41, of York House, Bradford, was re-sentenced for an offence of, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, had with him in a public place, namely Manchester Road, Bradford, an offensive weapon, namely a knuckle duster.
This offence occurred on October 31, 2016. He was originally handed a community order for this charge on March 28, 2018.
However, this count has now been re-sentended and Howes has been committed to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months.
Howes was also re-sentenced for being in possession of a quantity of methadone, a controlled drug of class A, on October 31, 2016.
This charge was in contravention of section 5(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, contrary to section 5(2) of and Schedule 4 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
He was originally handed a community order for this offence on March 28, 2018.
Howes had now been re-sentenced and committed to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months, to run concurrently.
Howes was re-sentenced for the two offences at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on May 12, 2022.
