A city centre bank that has been closed for two months will remain shut after a structural review revealed it would take ‘some time to fix the issues.’
The Santander branch in the city centre, at the junction of Darley Street and Kirkgate, closed in April due to structural issues which posed a safety threat.
The company has now revealed that it is sourcing an alternative temporary site to provide customers with services, whilst work is carried out on the old premises.
A spokesperson for Santander said: “Following a structural review of the site, it has become apparent that it will take some time to fix the issues.
“As such, we are now working at pace to find an alternative temporary site, in order to provide customers with banking services in the local area.”
