SEVEN MEN have been arrested following a serious assault in Bradford in the early hours of today.
The incident occurred at around 12.24am, when it was reported that a large group of men were fighting on Mortimer Avenue, off Gain Lane.
The group of men were seen to be assaulting one man, who had fallen to the floor during the incident.
Emergency services attended and no one was found with any injuries.
It is believed the victim of the assault may have left the area before emergency services arrived and has not yet been located.
The victim has been described as an Asian male in his 20s, who was wearing a dark grey tracksuit.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District Police, said: “Our investigation is in the early stages, but I want to reassure residents in the area that we believe this to be an isolated incident.
“We have arrested seven males in connection with this incident who all remain in police custody at this time.
“We are encouraging the victim of the assault or anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward with information that may assist with our enquiries.
“A police scene remains in place this morning on Mortimer Avenue whilst investigative work is carried out.”
