A group of bands raised over £2,500 at a fundraising concert inspired by the horror and destruction seen in Ukraine.
Hot Aire! Concert Band, Fresh Aire! Concert Band, Hall Royd Brass Band and the Ilkley Stage Singers joined together after feeling overwhelmed by the war.
Taking place at St Peter’s Church, Shipley, the show raised a whopping £2,637 for the Disasters Emergency Committee charity for the war in Ukraine.
Performers wore handmade Ukraine ribbons as a special touch.
Hot Aire!’s chair Linda Stafford said: “To play the Ukrainian National Anthem in such a beautiful setting was very emotional. We feel extremely humbled.”
Performers have thanked Binns Butchers, Serendipity, The Triangle and The Orange Grove for providing raffle prizes and St Peter’s Church for hosting the event.
