FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a Keighley engineering firm.
Crews from Keighley, Bingley and Shipley fire stations were called out to the incident – at castings company Leach & Thompson, in Dalton Lane – at about 9pm yesterday.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the roof of the building when they arrived.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire, which they contained to the roof and interior wall area.
"We had to cut away the wooden wall panelling to deal with the fire and ensure it was properly extinguished," said firefighter Miles Parkin. "We remained at the scene for about two hours."
A special high-pressure fan was used to help clear smoke from the building.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
