A MAN has appeared in court charged with stealing £1,200 in cash from the Bradford district petrol station where he worked.
Haider Shabir, 27, of Ashwell Road, Manningham, faced a charge of theft by employee.
In the offence, between June 6, 2020 and June 22, 2020, at Rankin Petrol Filing Station, Keighley Road, Bingley, he stole cash to the value of £1,200 belonging to the filling station.
Shabir was given a community order for the charge, which includes being ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work in the community within the next 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £1,200 compensation. This theft from an employee charge was also contrary to section 1(1) and 7 of the Theft Act 1968.
A collection order was made. The court will apply for deductions from benefits.
Shabir was also re-sentenced for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified from holding, or obtaining a driving licence. This offence took place on Canterbury Avenue, Bradford, on October 1, 2021.
This offence was dealt with under the terms of his community order given for the theft by employee charge. Shabir pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on May 13, 2022.
