BRITANNIA CARE
These are exiting days at Britannia Care as staff and residents get ready to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next month.
Just like the rest of the country Britannia Care are gearing up to mark this historic occasion in typical Britannia Care style, with a party or two…and lots of bunting. And no doubt staff and residents will be following all the Platinum Jubilee pomp, pageantry and many commemorative events taking place in London and across the nation, on the TV, as the United Kingdom marks HRH Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign.
For many residents, including Britannia Care founder and director Mr Chaudhry Inayat Khan, the memories of previous jubilees – the silver and gold jubilees - still resonate strongly. Especially the Silver Jubilee.
Said Mr Chaudhry Khan: “The Queen’s Silver Jubilee was particularly memorable, probably due to it being the first major celebration of its kind for a while.
“I know that we were all hoping for the kind of summer heatwave we enjoyed the previous year in 1976, but that was not to be, and we had a more typical British summer, but the weather wasn’t too bad, and it didn’t spoil such a special occasion, if I remember correctly.
“Back then, in June 1977, I don’t think any of us imagined that we would be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It is truly a remarkable achievement and everyone here at Britannia Care is delighted to be able to join in the celebrations.”
While no match for the longevity of the Queen’s 70-year reign, Britannia Care can still boast 31 years of delivering quality, bespoke care to family and friends of residents of Bradford and beyond.
Just like the Queen is head of the Commonwealth, residents at Britannia Care reflect the diverse cultural mix of modern Britan, with residents come from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds.
Co-director at Britannia Care, Mr Anis Khan, said: “Here at Britannia Care, we are very proud of our ability to care for such a culturally diverse group of residents. We fully understand the different requirements our residents need such as dietary and religious needs.
“Our staff are multi racial, with across the care team, 11 different languages are spoken.”
Being purpose-built, Britannia Care was able to include in the design important elements essential to providing high quality care, such as lift access to all floors, and corridors wide enough to accommodate supportive aids, all of which ensures residents have a place they can call their own.
There are also communal areas which includes a dining room, games rooms and several lounges, and there’s a fully functional commercial kitchen, too.
As well as priding themselves on the facilities, activities and the level of care provided by Britannia Care’s highly trained staff, the group also pride themselves on being very approachable, ensuring that there will be a member of staff who you can talk to, who is only too happy to guide you through all you need to know about placing a loved one in Britannia’s care.
If you need to speak to Britannia Care about a loved one, please contact Britannia Care manager, Nina Butor, on: 01274 49 48 47.
