DROPPING your cigarette on the floor could cost you, just like this man found out.
Alfie Swale, 22, of Wood Bottom View in Horsforth, pleaded guilty to throwing down, leaving or otherwise depositing litter at Greater Manchester Magistrates' Court last Thursday.
The charge related to August 28 last year when Swale dropped a cigarette and left it on the floor in Market Street, in Manchester.
This is an offence under Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Swale was ordered by the court to pay £364 in total.
This includes a £205 fine, a surcharge of £34 to fund victim services and costs of £125.
This must be paid by June 9 of this year.
The 22-year-old's guilty plea was taken into account when sentencing.
