HERE is a look inside a new Bradford district business with a quirky collection of items available from decades and centuries past.
Amazing Finds has opened up at its new site in Main Street, Bingley, which is run by Rob George, after he had renovated the billiard room of the old Conservative Club in Bingley.
He says what saved his stock from falling victim to the fire that day was the direction of the wind. Fortunately for him, he did not lose any stock - and the bulk of his collection was housed in a part of the mill that didn't catch fire.
Mr George opened up his Bingley showroom last month, which is already proving popular.
His business features a mix of unusual items for sale from everyday household objects to period furniture and mid-century design classics.
The jam-packed and colourful showroom includes items with prices varying between £5 and £500. Its earliest pieces date back to the 1700s and go right up to the present day.
Quirky items on sale in the showroom include a vintage Japanese rat trap, vintage board games and a vintage Raleigh bike.
Mr George, who lives in Keighley, said: “It’s an eclectic collection of things you don’t need, I suppose.
“I want people to embrace colour. There is too much beige about, there needs to be more colour.
“People need to brighten up their homes and brighten up their lives.
“There was half a foot of deep rubble when I moved in.
“You have to keep going with it. You have to spend every last penny getting the new showroom off the ground.
“I have collected antiques and collectibles all of my life. Hopefully there is something for everyone in here. It’s a nostalgic collection in there.
“It’s nice to chat to people who remember coming into the showroom when it was the Conservative Club in Bingley and people say they had birthday parties here.”
Amazing Finds is located on the first floor of 110 Main Street, Bingley, and is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
