A BRADFORD man has been jailed for stealing chocolate from a city pound shop.
Liam Baker, 34, of Draughton Street, Bankfoot, has been jailed for a total of 16 weeks for three theft from a shop charges.
In the first offence, he was jailed for 16 weeks for stealing chocolate, to the value of £80, from Poundland, at The Broadway, Bradford, on March 17, 2022.
He was also sent to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing chocolate, to the value of £40, from McColls, Otley Road, Bradford, on April 1, 2022. He was also ordered to pay £40 compensation for this charge.
Baker was also committed to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing chocolate, to the value of £12, from McColls, Otley Road, Bradford, on April 26, 2022.
He was jailed for the charges as they were deemed so serious because they were accompanied by another at time of committing offences. He was also on bail at the time. The offences Baker committed were also aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.
Baker pleaded guilty to all three charges he faced when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 28, 2022.
