SEVEN fire engines were needed to extinguish a huge crane fire on the M62 earlier today.
The blaze occurred on the hard shoulder of the motorway between junctions 25 and 26 near underneath the Chain Bar roundabout.
Five engines were initially used before this had to be increased to seven to deal with not only the crane being alight but a fuel fire in the runoff.
In total, two hose reels, one large jet and three breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire that lasted from 4 to 5.11pm on Monday afternoon.
Cleckheaton, Odsal, Bradford, Rastrick, Mirfield, Dewsbury and Huddersfield station(s) were all in attendance.
