A BRADFORD woman has been fined after arriving in England without proof that she had tested for Covid-19 during her stay abroad.
Parminder Tonge, 51, of Spinney Rise, Tong, faced one charge of being a person arriving in England failed to possess a coronavirus testing package.
Without reasonable excuse, Tonge contravened the requirements to book a day two and day eight Covid-19 test as required at the time.
The incident took place at Manchester Airport on February 25, 2021.
Tonge was fined £66 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.
The offence was contrary to regulations 3B(2) and 6(1)(ab) and (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020.
Tonge pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court on April 12, 2022.
