Star Wars fans will know that today isn’t just any old day.
Wednesday, May 4 is Star Wars Day, known to be the day when we just can’t resist saying “May the fourth be with you,” swapping ‘force’ out of the famous phrase and adding fourth.
With the franchise being so popular, it’s no wonder that when the time comes to pick baby names, some of us turn to our favourite characters for inspiration.

Bitcade has analysed baby name data based on birth registrations in England and Wales (2020) from Office for National Statistics (ONS).
All the baby name figures are based on the most recent year of birth registration data (2020).
The 42 names analysed were chosen based on Google’s suggested results for the phrase “Star Wars characters”, including characters such as Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett plus more.
Of the 42 names analysed, 15 featured in the baby name data between 1996-2020 and 12 featured specifically in the 2020 list.

Here’s a list of the most influential character names with their 2020 score rank and count.
Rose came out on top with 803 baby girls being given the name while Cornelius sits at number 12 with only eight babies being given the name in 2020.
