Otley and Yeadon ward councillors have welcomed the start of a new bus link to better connect the community.
The 969 service follows a circular route to provide off-peak links between the Haw Lane and Banksfield areas into Yeadon and Guiseley on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Buses depart from Morrisons supermarket in Yeadon at half past the hour, from 9.30am until 1.30pm, and leave Morrisons at Guiseley at ten minutes past the hour, from 10.10am until 2.10pm.
The service has been introduced on a temporary basis until April 2008 pending the outcome of a public consultation of bus services in the Yeadon area.
Councillor Ryk Downes, chairman of West Yorkshire's Passenger Transport Authority, said: "I have ordered a review of local bus services because I believe there is a danger that people living in surrounding, hilly areas will be cut off from shops and medical facilities.'' Councillor Colin Campbell said: "It is important that we hold this review."
