A WEST YORKSHIRE homelessness charity has launched its first-ever accumulator challenge, inviting businesses and people with an entrepreneurial flair to turn £40 into thousands.
Charity Simon on the Streets will be giving individuals and teams who partake £40 to convert into as much money as possible. The funds raised will enable the charity to continue its work in providing emotional and practical outreach to homeless and vulnerable people in Bradford, Kirklees and Leeds
The accumulator challenge is open for entries now and will take place from July 1 till September 30 and participants are encouraged to raise funds however they wish, so long as it is ethical and legal. The charity is also sourcing mentors to help guide participants to plan their campaigns and help raise as much as possible.
Simon on the Streets’ fundraising manager, Leah Charlson said:
“With the increased cost of living, we’re aware that times are hard for many people, so we wanted to launch a truly accessible fundraising challenge and reward entrepreneurial innovation.”
Participants are asked to pledge to raise a minimum £1000 and will be invited to an awards ceremony later in the year to unveil winners with categories including wackiest idea to most funds raised.
