A MAN has been sent to jail for four weeks after assaulting a police officer.
Liam Seth Robert Vallance, 25, of Wycliffe Gardens, Shipley, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court to face the charge.
According to court documents, the incident unfolded on February 13 this year at Trafalgar House Police Station on Nelson Street, Bradford, where Vallance assaulted PC Anthony Beeson.
He was committed to prison for four weeks after appearing for the sentencing hearing via live link on Wednesday, April 20.
Vallance must also pay a surcharge of £128 to fund victim services. A collection order was made and the balance must be paid by September 1 this year.
His guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence, court documents state.
