THERE was an emergency services presence at a Bradford district school yesterday evening after reports that there were ‘suspicious devices’ at the site.
Ambulance and fire crews were in attendance at Dixons Cottingley Academy, from around 7.20pm to 3am, according to reports.
A police cordon was put in place, and police cars and fire engines were seen at the school.
The authorities are treating the incident as a hoax, they said.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called to a school in Bingley at about at about 7.21pm on Tuesday, 26 April 26, following a report suspicious devices were at the site.
"Police and fire services attended and a search of the premises was carried out overnight.
"Nothing suspicious was found and the matter is being treated as a hoax.
"The site was returned to the school in the early hours of Wednesday and no disruption was caused to pupils.
"Enquires into the report are ongoing by Bradford District CID."
Dixons Cottingley Academy has also been contacted for comment.
