BRADFORD Central Lions Club will be raising money for its defibrillator appeal by hosting a bucket collection at the Super Soapbox Challenge coming to Bradford this weekend.

Members of the Club will join the crowds in Bradford on Sunday, May 1, to raise funds for their ongoing charity appeal.

Club president Lion Dalbir Singh Kundi said all money raised on the day will go towards their target which is to raise £20,000 to provide up to 17 defibrillators in and around the city.

The Lions Club is one of two charities to benefit from the downhill cart racing event, which is being brought to the city’s streets by the Bradford Business Improvement District (BID).

Dozens of teams have signed up to the event, which is expected to draw large crowds.

The Bradford Lions are supported by Bradford Council and Yorkshire Ambulance on their project to provide defibrillators, which will be available to the public – in what the Lions say is a vital potential lifesaving project for the city.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with nearly 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
