A COURT is to decide whether to take more than £17,000 from a Bradford man under a crime act.
North Cheshire Magistrates' Court will deal with an application for the forfeiture of seized cash tomorrow, in relation to Mohammed Khan, of Spring Place in Bradford.
The application relates to £17,195 that has been seized.
It has been made in accordance with Section 298 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Commissioners of Customs and Excise, an accredited financial investigator or a constable or an SFO officer can make such an application.
The law states that the court may order the forfeiture of the cash, or any part of it, if satisfied that the cash or part: is recoverable property, or is intended by any person for use in unlawful conduct.
