A MAN has appeared in court after a "nasty" attack on a shop worker.
Graham Michael Toulson, 37, of Leeds Road in Shipley, appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 22 charged with assault by beating.
It happened on November 20 last year at a Lidl store in Normanton, where he assaulted John Berry.
He initially denied the offence, then changed his plea to guilty. Toulson received a five-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months.
According to court documents, it was a "nasty attack" on a shop worker during the pandemic.
His sentence includes a rehabilitation activity requirement and 80 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay £750 compensation and an application made for benefit deductions The balance must be paid within 14 days.
