Liam Ryan, of Holme Wood, given football banning order

Liam Ryan, 25, of Ardsley Close, Holme Wood, was convicted of one charge of using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The offence took place in Bradford on February 26, 2022. He was fined £40, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge for the offence.

Ryan was also given a three-year football banning order. The requirements of the banning order include on the day when Bradford City are playing in a fixture at Valley Parade, Ryan is not to approach within three miles of the stadium in the period between three hours prior to the kick off and two hours after the end of the game.

On the day when Bradford City are playing at home, he is not to approach within half a mile of the Bradford Interchange or Foster Square railway station, from between three hours prior to the kick off and two hours after the end of the game.

On the day when Bradford City are playing in an away fixture, Ryan is not to approach within five miles of the stadium where the game is taking place, in the period between three hours prior to the kick off and two hours after the end of the game.

On the day when England International football team are playing in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Ryan is not to approach within five miles of the stadium where the game is taking place, between three hours prior to kick off and three hours after the end of the game. Ryan pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 20, 2022.
