ONE of Bradford's biggest schools has been given the green light to build a new facility for pupils with special educational needs.
Bradford Council revealed plans for a new provision for 22 pupils to be built at Bradford Academy on Teasdale Street earlier this year.
The new building would be for "students with special educational needs who have difficulties in normal teaching environments" and be based on a disused playing field to the South East of the school grounds.

A planning application for the single storey building, which will have four classrooms, a sensory room and reading pod, have now been approved.
Planning officers said: "The introduction of a small number of new classroom facilities to cater for pupils with additional needs on this site, is not considered to raise any concerns and does not present an over-intensification of the sites use."
Bradford Academy currently has 1,765 pupils ranging in ages three to 18 years old on its rolls.
