A 19-YEAR-OLD from Ravenscliffe has been arrested on a racial offence after the verbal assault of a police officer.
West Yorkshire Police said a man from the estate has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.
It is related to an incident involving a PCSO.
The PCSO was on anti-social behaviour patrol in the Bradford East area, as the Ravenscliffe area has been plagued with youths vandalising buses and wreaking havoc over the past month.
While patrolling, the PCSO was verbally assaulted.
The 19-year-old who was arrested remains in police custody at this time.
Local Neighbourhood officers will continue reassurance patrols in the Ravenscliffe area.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "A 19-year-old man from Ravenscliffe has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.
"It’s after an incident where a PCSO was verbally assaulted whilst he was on an anti-social behaviour patrol in the Bradford East area.
"He remains in police custody at this time.
"Local Neighbourhood officers will continue reassurance patrols in the Ravenscliffe area after recent incidents of anti-social behaviour."
Police arrested and charged a youth and dealt with nine offenders over the Easter weekend, in relation to the bad behaviour on the estate.
