A BRADFORD district estate has been used as a location for filming of a new major TV drama.

A green adjacent to Rayner Mount in Allerton was used for filming for a three-part factual drama for ITV called Project M.

The filming took place on Tuesday, April 12 to Thursday, April 14, including until 11pm at night on each day. It involved scenes featuring a police investigation with marked force cars, police officers and a forensic tent used. Filming also took place at some of the ginnels and paths in the area near to the green.

No further details are known about the details of the story behind the drama or its transmission date.

A resident of nearby Lindholm Gardens, who did not wish to be named, enjoyed watching the filming process from his home.

He said: “It’s been different having the cameras here.

“I sat on my doorstep to have a look at them filming. I could see police and ambulances there.”

Another residents says he spoke to the production’s crew during their filming stint, adding he spotted a forensic tent which was used during the three days.

In the letter, which was sent to residents in nearby streets last month, said: “We love this area of Allerton for the filming, although some of the hours are a little out of the ordinary as the scenes took place at night.

“The filming of the scenes will involve a police incident at night and the subsequent investigation, which takes place in daylight thereafter.

“Actors will be playing police, however we will have real police on site as well to assist and make sure the filming goes smoothly.”
