SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because they wanted a telephone number to contact someone about a power cut.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
In its latest example, the team said: "No! please don't call 999 to ask for a telephone number to contact someone about a power cut!!! #Not999.”
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
