A driver whose car was hit by a tractor was found to be driving without insurance, Skipton magistrates heard.
Mark Smith was at Airedale Hospital being treated following a collision on Keighley Road, Skipton, on November 8 when it came to light he had allowed his insurance to lapse.
Smith, 32, of Cliffe Terrace, Keighley, pleaded guilty by letter to the court. He apologised and said it was an unintentional lapse.
He was fined £200 and his licence endorsed with six penalty points. He was also ordered to pay £45 costs and a £15 victims surcharge.
