A NEW bathbomb shop has opened in Bradford city centre where customers can get their hands on unique gifts and self-care products.
Ava Bath, opened in Bank Street earlier this month, after featuring as a pop-up shop in Huddersfield.
The vibrant store sells gifts including handmade and CBD oil bath bombs, refillable shower gels to minimise plastic-waste and bars of soap.
Owner, Charlene Barraclough, 39 from Bradford got inspiration for the idea after working The Bodyshop group before deciding to making her own products from hand during the Covid lockdowns.
She said: "I came up with the idea after working for The Bodyshop for a few years, but then I thought why not look at doing my own products.
"During lockdown I started looking into doing it and got bath bombs assessments and chemical assessments and started playing around and making my own. There's a lot more to it than people think."
"We do gifts, bath bombs, bubbles and CBD oil bath bombs as well which are quite new on the market too.
"I'm not a doctor but customers have said the CBD ones really helps with health issues like sciatica and we do them in different strengths too."
She said that the pop-up shop in Huddersfield had an "amazing response" so she didn't want to let the business go.
"I knew there wasn't a bath bomb shop in Bradford I just decided to go for it. We still get some of our customers come over from Huddersfield which has been great."
She said she's also tried to be a bit different, and create a fun and friendly atmosphere by installing a shower gel dispenser so that people can come in and re-fill a bottle with a hand-made shower gel to minimise plastic waste.
Charlene added that her bath bombs are full of "fizz, foam and fun" and she wants to make sure she takes it to the next level so they're not just your standard bath-bomb.
On having her very own bath bomb business, Charlene said: "It's amazing, it is stressful at times but at the same time nothing good comes from not working hard. You've got to put the effort and the hours in but it's very exciting. I'm loving the feedback and I'm loving the customers, it's a really nice buzz feeling."
